The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) continues to support education across Yemen, including general and higher education, as well as technical and vocational training, through dozens of development projects and initiatives to improve educational opportunities nationwide.
In general education, the SDRPY has established and equipped more than 30 model schools in various Yemeni governorates. These schools feature modern classrooms, chemistry and computer laboratories, and advanced educational facilities designed to create a stimulating learning environment.

The initiative aims to prepare a new generation of students capable of contributing to their communities and the nation by fostering innovation, creativity, and skill development.
To enhance accessibility, the SDRPY has also launched school and university transportation projects across several governorates, ensuring safe and reliable transport for students of all ages, including those with disabilities, by providing buses to and from educational institutions. This support helps safeguard academic continuity and promotes equal access to education.
Through these efforts, the SDRPY has expanded learning opportunities for tens of thousands of students, created direct and indirect employment in the education sector, and developed inclusive model learning environments.

Its educational initiatives include establishing schools, upgrading universities, building colleges and institutes, equipping laboratories, and improving transportation services.
The projects are part of SDRPY’s broader commitment to 264 development initiatives across eight key sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, government capacity-building, and development programs.

The program continues to play a vital role in Yemen’s reconstruction, ensuring sustainable progress in essential sectors across the country.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
