Saudi Royal Order Names Al-Harbi as Head of Military Apparatus, Khalid bin Bandar as Advisor at Foreign Ministry

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued on Thursday a Royal Order to promote Major General Saleh bin Abdulrahman bin Samir Al-Harbi to the rank of Lieutenant General and appoint him as Head of the Military Apparatus.

A second Royal Order appointed Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz as an advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Born in 1977, Prince Khalid worked as the Saudi Ambassador to the UK and Germany.

He attended Oxford University and Pembroke College, where he earned a degree in Oriental Studies. He also attended Sandhurst Military Academy and studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

He worked at the United Nations in New York and for three years as an advisor to the Saudi Ambassador in Washington.

Al-Harbi was a member of several security and military committees. A decorated officer, he was head of operations at the National Guard Ministry.

National Guard Minister Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz awarded him the Knight Medal of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).

The medal is awarded by the ICDO in recognition of exceptional service to the organization and outstanding contributions to advancing civil defense efforts around the world.

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday a telephone call from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

They discussed the strong bilateral ties that bind their nations and means to boost them across various fields, reported the Kuwaiti state news agency KUNA.

They also reviewed regional and international developments and issues of common interest.

Sheikh Meshal hailed the enduring ties between Kuwait and Iran, underscoring his keenness on developing them further to achieve more cooperation.

He wished Pezeshkian good health and Iran further progress.
