Russia's Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had taken the village of Novoolenivka in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, along with Marine, a settlement in the northern Sumy region, state news agency RIA reported.
Russia has been pushing through Ukraine's industrial east since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in February 2022, while Moscow recently began pushing into Sumy region after ousting Kyiv's forces from Russia's neighboring Kursk region.
