The Saudi Theater and Performing Arts Commission will participate in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, which will kick off in the Scottish capital on August 1.
The commission's participation will mark a significant milestone in showcasing Saudi cultural presence on the international stage, with the festival being one of the oldest and largest theater festivals in the world.
To promote cultural exchange with a diverse global audience, the commission will present the play "The Hoop," introducing contemporary Saudi theater.
The performance is part of the commission's Sitar Program, launched to support the Saudi theatrical production, stimulate creativity, and improve the quality of theatrical output.
"The Hoop" previously won the Best Contemporary Theater Performance Award at the 2024 Riyadh Theater Festival and recently participated in the 79th Avignon Festival in France, which celebrated the Arabic language.
Through its participation in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the commission underscores its commitment to supporting the arts and enhancing its presence in global cultural venues.
