According to a statement from Egyptian presidential spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, the talks covered a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues as well as regional and international developments of mutual concern. In his remarks during the talks, Sisi reiterated Egypt’s support for Saudi initiatives on the Palestinian issue, including the outcomes of the recent “Two-State Solution Conference” held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
The presidential statement added that Sisi conveyed his deep appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality he received, affirming the strong bonds of affection and respect that Egypt’s leadership and people hold for Saudi Arabia and the close historic ties binding the two countries.
According to the Egyptian presidency, the talks between the two leaders also included “in-depth discussions on a number of bilateral cooperation files.”
