Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the dangerous proposal by an Israeli minister to deepen settlements and annex the occupied West Bank.
The Secretary-General stated that such calls confirm the Israeli occupation's ongoing systematic efforts to undermine security and stability in the region, in blatant defiance of international conventions, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
He called on the international community to take immediate deterrent measures to halt such practices. Al-Budaiwi also affirmed the GCC's unwavering support for the Palestinian people in confronting these aggressive statements and practices, as well as for their legitimate rights, most importantly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders, with east Jerusalem as its capital.
