Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the city of Jeddah will host the fifth annual Hajj Conference and Exhibition on November 9-12.

The event is organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in collaboration with the Pilgrim Experience Program, under a theme translated as “From Makkah to the World.”

This year's conference builds on the success of previous years. The fourth edition witnessed exceptional participation, with over 120,000 visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom and more than 220 exhibitors from 137 countries, and it featured the signing of over 670 cooperation agreements. These milestones have directly contributed to enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims and improving their experience during the last Hajj season.

The upcoming conference will feature over 80 sessions and 60 specialized workshops, bringing together academics, researchers, pilgrims' affairs offices, diplomatic missions, and more than 2,400 trainees from around the world.

Over its four days, the conference will showcase the comprehensive Hajj ecosystem, which engages a wide range of sectors, including travel and tourism, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, catering, hospitality, technology, insurance, crowd management, logistics, and others.

The non-profit sector will also be represented through cooperative institutions and initiatives that offer innovative solutions to improve services and promote sustainability.

The ministry stressed that these efforts align with the goals of the Pilgrim Experience Program, a key initiative of Vision 2030, reinforcing the Kingdom’s global leadership in serving the pilgrims.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
