Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, met on Saturday with Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations, emphasized the significance of promoting multilateral action to address global challenges, and discussed mechanisms for international cooperation in responding to humanitarian crises and regional conflicts.
They also discussed strengthening the UN's role as a platform that supports humanitarian causes and provides assistance to the peoples of the world, with the aim of promoting global security, stability, and prosperity, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Multilateral Affairs and Supervisor General of the Public Diplomacy Affairs Agency; Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasil, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations in New York; Mohammed Alyahya, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
