Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah stressed on Saturday the Kingdom’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, saying it was time to reach a just and lasting solution to it.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly, he said that handling the issue outside international frameworks and laws has led to the continuation of the violence and deeper suffering.

“The international community’s failure to take decisive measures to stop Israeli aggressions and violations will only contribute to the destabilization of regional security and stability and pave the way for dangerous repercussions and increase the war crimes and acts of genocide,” he warned.

He said that Saudi Arabia is proud of being a founding member of the US and seeks to translate its principles into actions through its respect of international law and consolidation of international peace and security.

He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, noting its initiative with Norway and the European Union to launch the global alliance for the implementation of the two-state solution, as well as its chairing with France of an international conference for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

Prince Faisal praised the countries that have recently recognized the State of Palestinian and the Palestinian Authority’s vow to carry out important reforms that demand more support from the international community.

“It is time to find a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, as military escalation will not achieve security and peace,” he said, advocating for the two-State solution.

He called on all countries to recognize the State of Palestine, condemning aggressive Israeli attacks in the region, including attacks on Qatar.

He stressed the need for committing to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in the region and the importance of protecting navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

He hailed the positive steps Syria is taking to consolidate security and stability and reiterated the Kingdom's keenness on the security and stability of Yemen.

Moreover, the FM highlighted Saudi Arabia’s development under its Vision 2030 and the goals it has achieved so far, such as the empowerment of youth and women and strengthening international cooperation.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
