The Joy Forum 2025, one of the world’s largest events dedicated to the entertainment industry, kicked off at Boulevard City in Riyadh on Thursday.
General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Alalshikh stressed that the Kingdom’s achievements in the entertainment sector have been made possible through the generous support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The sector’s unprecedented development is a direct result of Saudi Vision 2030 and the leadership’s continued backing, he added.
Spotlighting upcoming milestones, Alalshikh said that the first phase of the Qiddiya project, including Six Flags Qiddiya, one of the flagship initiatives led by the Crown Prince under the national comprehensive transformation plan, is set to open later this year.
He announced the signing of investment and development agreements worth more than SAR4 billion for the coming year, covering a range of new entertainment projects and events.
Although the Vision 2030 journey that began in 2016 has been relatively short, it has been rich with achievements that have transformed the Kingdom into a leading global destination for major international events and one of the world’s most attractive tourism hubs, remarked Alalshikh.
Considering these milestones, he praised the strong cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, which has driven significant growth in visitor numbers and tourism revenues, making the Kingdom the second highest in the region in tourism revenue last year.
He also commended the active partnership with the Ministry of Culture in supporting cultural and creative events and initiatives.
