Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation authorities and extremist groups for their assaults on the Palestinian people.
The latest incidents included the illegal storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the assault on worshippers, and the targeting of Hajjah Hamida Mosque in the village of Kifl Hares.
These actions represent a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and of international law.
He stressed that these attacks are a serious escalation and an unacceptable transgression. Albudaiwi underscored the urgent need for the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities to stop these repeated violations, which undermine security and heighten tensions in the region, and to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and their religious sanctities.
