Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, inaugurated new facilities at King Salman Air Base in the Central Sector on Tuesday as part of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Upon arrival, the Crown Prince was greeted by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and several high-ranking officials, SPA reported.

The Crown Prince toured the facilities and was briefed on the technical, administrative, and residential areas, all built to the highest international military standards. He received an overview of the construction phases and engineering components. These facilities are designed to enhance the combat readiness of the Air Force and support planning, command, control, supply, and joint operations for the Armed Forces.

During the opening ceremony, a video presentation showcased the project's implementation stages, which began in Q3 2021 and took 38 months to complete. Designed in the Salmani architectural style, the project reflects Riyadh’s identity and modern urban trends.

It includes 115 buildings covering more than 126,000 square meters, with runways, aircraft parking aprons, helicopter pads, hangars, an air traffic control tower, and facilities for technical, administrative, residential, and security purposes.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, and senior civil and military officials.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
