Sotheby’s is scheduled to hold its second auction in Saudi Arabia on Saturday in Diriyah, featuring more than 60 artworks for acquisition, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

The auction is set to showcase contemporary works by Saudi and Middle Eastern artists as well as global names such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Anish Kapoor.

Titled “Origins II,” the auction marks the first presentation of works by Saudi artists Mohamed Siam and Dia Aziz Dia, who are among the prominent voices of the second generation of contemporary artists in the Kingdom.

Their works will be displayed alongside pieces by pioneers of contemporary art, including Safeya Binzagr, Abdulhalim Radwi, and Mohammed Al-Saleem.

The “Origins II” exhibition will be open to the public with free admission at Bujairi Terrace in Diriyah until 7:30 p.m. on January 31, coinciding with the opening of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026.

Sotheby’s, founded in 1744, focuses on promoting the acquisition of exceptional artworks and luxury collectibles through auctions, private sales, and retail, supported by a global network of specialists in 40 countries.

The Cultural House in Jazan hosted an event on literature and coffee culture from January 22 to 24, featuring workshops for all ages.

The coffee program included interactive workshops that explored specialty coffee from selection to serving, with artistic demonstrations that transformed coffee cups into canvases. Children had dedicated areas to engage in creative activities, such as decorating cups with coffee beans, SPA reported.

A training track offered practical instruction on coffee preparation and machine operation in an accessible setting.

Literary workshops promoted storytelling, reading, and creative expression, encouraging participants to explore narrative development and social etiquette.

This initiative aimed to enhance community engagement with literature and coffee, advancing the Cultural House's mission to revitalize the local cultural scene.

The King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran is participating in the 57th Cairo International Book Fair as part of the pavilion of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.

The fair features 1,457 publishing houses from 83 countries and is being held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, SPA.

The complex will showcase a range of its publications, demonstrate the stages of printing the Holy Quran, and distribute 50,000 copies of the Holy Quran, a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in various sizes, editions, and recitations.
