Saudi Defense Minister Holds Phone Calls with Qatar Deputy Prime Minister, Kuwaiti Counterpart

Saudi Minister of Defense, Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, held separate phone calls on Sunday with Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and received a call from Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait.

During the calls, discussions focused on the Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom, the State of Qatar, Kuwait, and several other countries in the region. The officials strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as violations that undermine regional security and stability.

They affirmed their countries’ full right to take the necessary measures to confront such threats, reiterating solidarity and readiness to mobilize all capabilities in support of efforts aimed at safeguarding security and preserving stability across the region.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, received Crown Prince of Jordan Prince Al Hussein ibn Abdullah II, in Riyadh on Monday, the Saudi Press Agency said.

Jordan's Crown Prince conveyed King Abdullah II's greetings to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who reciprocated with greetings to the Jordanian monarch.

Prince Al Hussein condemned the terrorist Houthi militia’s attacks against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Jordan’s full solidarity with the Kingdom in confronting any threats to its security and the safety of its citizens and residents, as well as its unwavering support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its assets and resources.

The two sides also reviewed the historical relations between the two countries and their peoples, as well as their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across all fields.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and Minister of State and Cabinet Member Khalid Al-Issa.

From the Jordanian side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Majdi Al-Harasis, and Director of the Crown Prince's Office Dr. Zaid Baqain.

Saudi Chief of General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili presented Greek Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Gen. Dimitrios Choupis with the King Abdulaziz Medal, First Class, in Riyadh, pursuant to an order by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, supreme commander of the Saudi armed forces.

The medal was awarded in recognition of Choupis' efforts to strengthen friendship, expand bilateral cooperation and develop relations between Saudi Arabia and Greece.

Al-Ruwaili had held talks with Choupis in Riyadh, where the two sides reviewed military and defense cooperation and ways to enhance bilateral ties, as well as discussed issues of mutual interest.

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman held separate phone calls with his Japanese, Australian and South Korean counterparts on Monday to discuss strengthening defense cooperation and coordination amid regional tensions.

Khalid spoke with Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles, and South Korean Defense Minister Kang Shin-chul.

The call with Japan's defense minister focused on bilateral military and defense cooperation, with both sides underscoring the importance of promoting regional security and stability and condemning Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia.

In his call with Marles, Khalid discussed ways to strengthen defense cooperation and coordination, as well as joint efforts to address regional challenges and support stability.

Talks with South Korean Defense Minister covered bilateral defense cooperation and regional developments. Both sides stressed the need to support efforts to achieve peace in the region and worldwide and condemned Houthi attacks against the kingdom.
