UAE Defenses Destroy 109 Drones, 9 Ballistic Missiles from Iran

United Arab Emirates defenses intercepted and destroyed nine ballistic missiles and 109 drones. Three drones, meanwhile, fell inside UAE territory, reported the country’s state news agency WAM.

The Defense Ministry said that defenses “have intercepted 205 ballistic missiles since Iran’s flagrant violations began last Saturday.” A total of 190 have been destroyed, while 13 fell at sea and two inside the UAE.

It also detected 1,184 drones, intercepting 1,110, while 74 crashed inside the country.

Three civilians have been killed, foreign workers from Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan, while 112 people have been injured. They include people from the Emirates, Egypt, Ethiopia, Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, the Comoros, and Türkiye.

The Defense Ministry said it was prepared to confront any threat and firmly deal with anything that aims to destabilize the country’s security. It vowed to maintain the UAE's sovereignty, security and stability and protect its interests.

Meanwhile, authorities in Fujairah said they have contained a fire that had erupted in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ). The fire was sparked by shrapnel from the interception of a drone.

No one was injured in the incident.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a written message from Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, expressing his country's solidarity with the Kingdom in light of the current situation in the region.

The message was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah during a meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with his Rwandan counterpart, Olivier Nduhungirehe.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and reviewed a number of issues of common interest.

The Crown Prince also received a written message from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, concerning relations between the two countries.

The message was received by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji during a meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom Yasunari Morino.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan and discussed various topics of common interest.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received a written message from Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, concerning relations between the two countries.

The message was received by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji during a meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jonathan Wutawunashe.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed bilateral relations, explored ways to develop them in various fields and discussed issues of common interest.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a phone call on Wednesday from Canadian PM Mark Carney.

During the call, the two sides discussed relations between the Kingdom and Canada, as well as areas of existing cooperation between the two countries.

They also reviewed ways to enhance and develop cooperation across various fields.

They further discussed the latest regional developments and their security and economic repercussions in the region and the world.
