Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli attack targeting military infrastructure in southern Syria, the Saudi Press Agency said Sunday.
Albudaiwi said the aggression is not limited to Syrian territory but also undermines security and stability across the region.
He emphasized the importance of respecting the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria and rejected all forms of foreign interference in its internal affairs.
Albudaiwi added that Syria’s security and stability are a fundamental pillar of regional security, emphasizing the need to uphold the principles of the United Nations Charter, respect state sovereignty, and safeguard both regional and international peace and stability.
Israel's military said on Friday it had struck southern Syria in response to what it called attacks against the Druze community in Sweida province.
