Kuwaiti air defenses were "engaging hostile drone attacks" from Iran, the Gulf state's military said Monday.

"The General Staff of the Army notes that any explosions heard are a result of air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks," the Kuwait Army said in a post on its official X account.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed earlier Monday they had hit targets in Kuwait.

Bahrain sounded its missile alert sirens Monday morning, warning of an Iranian retaliatory attack after US airstrikes targeted Iran.

The kingdom has been repeatedly attacked by Iran as an interim deal to end the war has collapsed.

Early Monday, the US Embassy in Bahrain issued a warning saying “Iran may seek to target unspecified locations in central Manama,” the capital, without elaborating.
