Flying fullback Achraf ‌Hakimi grabbed a hat-trick as Paris St Germain went on the rampage to thrash bottom-placed Le Havre 5-1 and extend their Ligue 1 lead on Friday.

The European champions, who have several regulars out injured, could afford to leave more of their key players on the bench and still come away with an impressive victory as they moved to 20 points from their opening nine league fixtures.

They are two ahead of Lille and four above third-placed Rennes, who have 16 points. Lille moved above Rennes into ‌second after a ‌late goal from veteran Olivier Giroud, who ‌came off the bench to score an 86th minute winner at home for a 1-0 derby victory over RC Lens.

Rennes were handed a 5-2 drubbing at Nice, who continued their improving form with a fourth win in five outings.

Elye Wahi netted a hat-trick for Nice, who moved up to seventh after last season narrowly avoiding relegation.

On top of his three goals at Stade Oceane, Hakimi ‌had two assists for the goals ‌scored by Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu after Josh Maja had given ‌the hosts the lead.

It was PSG's ninth consecutive victory in ‌all competitions.

Le Havre suffered a fifth consecutive defeat and sit bottom with two points but they briefly dared to believe as Maja handed them an early lead.

Hakimi set up Godts for the equalizer before putting ‌his side ahead in the 28th minute with a shot in at the near post.

The Morocco international then netted from a free kick into the bottom corner in the 55th minute before being at the center of a counter attack that saw Mayulu make it 4-1 in the 62nd minute.

Hakimi completed his hat-trick with a deflected effort in the 69th minute.

"I am happy because some players had very little playing time. If we want to win trophies, we need everyone,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique.

"With injuries, opportunities arise. That was particularly the case tonight for Quentin Ndjantou and David Boly, who made his Ligue 1 debut.

Wahi’s hat-trick for Nice was made up of two first half penalties and a 73rd minute first time finish.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc dominated practice for the Mexico City Grand Prix on Friday, clocking the fastest times in both sessions for the second weekend running.

The Monegasque driver clocked a best lap in one minute and 17.827 seconds in the second practice session to outpace McLaren's world champion Lando Norris by 0.103 seconds with George Russell finishing third ahead of his Mercedes team-mate runaway championship leader Kimi Antonelli.

Antonelli, 20, who was absent on Thursday to recover from a virus, can become the sport's youngest champion on Sunday, and Italy's first since 1963, if he finishes in the top nine.

He can also take the title if his two remaining rivals - Russell and Ferrari's seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton - fail to win.

Leclerc's success on Friday repeated his showing in Austin, Texas, at last weekend's United States Grand Prix.

Red Bull's four-time champion Max Verstappen, a record five-time winner in Mexico, was fifth ahead of team-mate Isack Hadjar after an early clash with Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson which left him with damaged bodywork.

Lawson's team-mate Arvid Lindblad was seventh ahead of Alpine's Pierre Gasly, Lawson and Oscar Piastri in the second McLaren.

Hamilton was down in 11th for Ferrari after suffering a power failure that ended his running midway through.

The session began with Gasly leading Alpine team-mate Franco Colapinto out ahead of Cadillac's local hero Sergio Perez, set for his 300th race start, the seventh driver to reach this landmark. He was promptly cautioned for a pit lane infringement.

After the inclusion of 10 rookie reserves in free practice one, all 22 full-timers were back with a wide range of tires on show - Ferrari taking mediums, Verstappen softs and others hards on the low-grip track.

A red flag paused the action after 15 minutes to clear debris in the Foro Sol after Verstappen clashed with stable-mate Lawson and damaged his car's bargeboard.

The frustrated Dutchman's actions seemed excessively aggressive and required a Red Bull pit-stop for repairs. The incident was noted by the stewards and set for investigation afterwards.

Ferrari dominated the early stages with Leclerc on top before Norris, on softs, took command as McLaren bounced back shortly before Hamilton lost power and pulled up on the straight.

He had just switched to softs and completed one lap.

It was a setback for Hamilton who lost vital learning time on softs while Leclerc regained the initiative ahead of Norris, Russell and Antonelli before the field switched to heavier fuel loads and medium tires.

Max Verstappen slammed his Red Bull stable-mate Liam Lawson as "not very smart" after a Friday practice crash that saw both hit with one-place grid penalties for the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc topped the times ahead of world champion Lando Norris of McLaren in an eventful session that saw Kimi Antonelli wind up fourth as he closes in on the title, said AFP.

Red Bulls' four-time champion Verstappen was embroiled in an incident that left him with damaged bodywork, tangling with Racing Bulls' Lawson in a feisty fight for track position going into the Foro Sol section.

Verstappen said New Zealand's Lawson caused the trouble near turn 12, their minor collision spewing debris over the circuit and causing the session to be red-flagged for the track to be cleared.

"It was not unlucky," said the Dutchman. "It was not very smart behavior by him in what he was trying to do there. But it is not going to change my weekend."

Both drivers were summoned by the stewards, who found they behaved in a manner that was "unacceptable" and handed out the penalty.

"I think it is just not very smart behavior when you are fighting for your seat," Verstappen said, a reference to Lawson's admission this week that he does not know if he will retain his place next season with Racing Bulls, despite an impressive season with the sister team to Red Bull.

Racing Bulls may move to promote Red Bull junior driver Nikola Tsolov, who on Friday became the first Bulgarian driver to take part in an official practice session at a Grand Prix when he drove in FP1.

Lawson has impressed throughout the year and outperformed team-mate rookie Arvid Lindblad comprehensively.

On Thursday he told reporters that finding consistency in formula one is hard, but he believed he has "maximized a lot this year.

"I'm not really sure what more is expected, but I'm not really sitting here thinking too much about the whole seat selection thing.

"I overthought things last year so I'm trying a different mindset this year to score as many points as I can."

Lawson is ninth in the drivers' championship with 77 points while teammate Lindblad is 11th on 38.

His performances have helped lift Racing Bulls to fifth in the constructors' title race behind the big four of Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren.

He ended up ninth in Friday FP2 while Verstappen was fifth behind the Mercedes of George Russell and 20-year-old Italian Antonelli -- who is poised to become the sport's youngest champion on Sunday if he finishes in the top nine.

Verstappen, a five-time winner in Mexico, admitted: "It could have gone better, but we're not too far off and just have some fine tuning to do. No one has much grip here but it is the same for us all and nothing new."
