Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support to sports, which he said has led to increasing the rate of people practicing sports and physical activities on a weekly basis.
The rate rose to 48 percent of the total population practicing sports for at least 30 minutes per week, compared to what it was in 2019 (19 percent).
He also noted that the percentage of people practicing physical activity for 150 minutes also increased from 20 percent in 2019 to 29 percent in 2021, which reflects the rising awareness of the importance of exercise among all segments of the society. This would contribute to achieving one of the pillars of Saudi Vision 2030 by reaching a healthy and active society.
