Cristiano Ronaldo scored two second-half goals as Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr beat Al-Duhail of Qatar 4-3 in the Asian Champions League on Tuesday.

Al-Nassr has nine points from three games in Group E, three clear of Persepolis after the Iranian team defeated Tajikistan’s Istiklol 2-0.

Ronaldo's backheel set up Anderson Talisca for the opening goal and Sadio Mane doubled the lead before halftime. The Portugal star's left-footed curler from outside the area made it 3-0 before the hour mark.

Al-Duhail pulled two goals back thanks to Ismaeel Mohammed and Almoez Ali.

Ronaldo intervened once more with nine minutes remaining as he volleyed a deep cross into the net, and Al-Nassr hung on after Michael Olunga's strike made it 4-3.

On Monday Al-Hilal routed Mumbai City 6-0. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a hat trick for the four-time champion to put Al-Hilal atop Group D with seven points from three games.

In the absence of the injured Karim Benzema, a last-minute goal from Abderrazak Hamdallah gave Saudi Arabian champion Al-Ittihad a 1-0 win over Al Quwa Al Jawiya of Iraq.

Al-Ittihad is two points clear of Iranian team Sepahan, which won 3-1 in Uzbekistan against AGMK, in Group C.

In the eastern zone — the competition is divided into two geographic halves until the final — two teams with three titles to their name met in Japan.

Pohang Steelers of South Korea defeated host Urawa Reds 2-0, Jeong Jae-hee scored the opener midway through the first half and Goh Young-jun added a second.

Pohang is atop Group J with three wins out of three and five points clear of Urawa and Wuhan Three Towns after the Chinese champion beat Vietnam’s Hanoi FC 2-1.

Two-time champion Ulsan Hyundai Horangi of South Korea defeated Malaysia’s Johor Darul Tazim 3-1 but stays second in Group I behind Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale, which won 4-2 at Thailand’s BG Pathum United.

Manchester United's cost for firing Ruben Amorim could reach 15.9 million pounds ($21.4 million), the Premier League club said in a financial filing.

Amorim was fired as head coach on Jan. 5 after just 14 months in the job, with the announcement coming shortly after he made provocative comments about his position within United’s hierarchy.

“A charge of £6.3 million for the write-off of related intangible assets and a provision of £15.9 million, representing the maximum potential amount of future settlement payments, will be recognized in the statement of profit or (loss) during the second half of the year ending 30 June 2026,” the club wrote of its Amorim-related costs, The AP news reported.

The 6.3 million pounds ($8.5 million) is related to the cost of hiring Amorim from Sporting Lisbon in November 2024.

The figure of 15.9 million pounds represents United's potential maximum owed to Amorim and his coaching staff. The filing didn't specify but media reports indicate the final figure includes factors such as if, or when, Amorim gets a new job.

United's share price closed at $17.62 Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange. The club is owned by the Glazer family from the United States and British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.

The 20-time English champion has hired Michael Carrick on a contract to the end of the season, and the former United player has overseen the team's rise to fourth place in the Premier League ahead of Sunday's game against Crystal Palace.

French league leader Paris Saint-Germain will be without injured star forward Ousmane Dembélé for Saturday's trip to Le Havre.

PSG said in a statement on Friday that the Ballon d’Or winner remains sidelined after suffering a calf injury and is training on his own. It's unclear whether Dembélé will recover in time for the title holder's clash with Chelsea next month in the Champions League round of 16, The AP news reported.

The midfielder Senny Mayulu, who is continuing his individual training sessions, will also be missing against Le Havre.

PSG added that Fabian Ruiz will carry out an adapted individual training program over the next two weeks to relieve his knee pain. Fellow midfielder João Neves, who is hampered by a left ankle injury, will remain having treatment over the coming days.

The club has a two-point lead over Lens in the French league after 23 rounds.

Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz will miss Saturday's game against West Ham because of a lingering back injury, and manager Arne Slot said there's no timetable for the Germany playmaker's return.

Wirtz had been pulled from the lineup before last week's Premier League game at Nottingham Forest after experiencing back pain during the warm-up.

“I don't expect Florian to be available. That’s a disappointment, of course,” Slot said Friday at a press conference. “Every time when a player is not available, it’s a disappointment, and also something that I didn’t expect after last week.”

At the time of the injury, Slot had said: “We don’t think it’s very serious.”

The Dutch manager was asked Friday if he knows how long Wirtz will be out, The Associated Press reported.

“At this moment in time no, and usually when I say that I do know that, but I don’t want to share it,” Slot said. “But now, I honestly don’t know.”

Frimpong is back Netherlands right-back Jeremie Frimpong has trained with the team this week, “so he is available” against West Ham, Slot said.

Frimpong, who has dealt with several injuries in his first season at Anfield, has missed the past month with a muscle injury.
