The Spanish Super Cup will be held in the Kingdom on January 10-14, the Ministry of Sports has announced. The tournament involves Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Osasuna.
The tournament's knockout stage will be held at Riyadh's Awal Park stadium. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid will kick off the tournament on January 10, while defending champion Barcelona will take on Osasuna the following day. On January 14, the winners will face each other in the final match, the Ministry said Wednesday.
It will be the fourth consecutive time the Spanish tournament finals are hosted by the Kingdom, following the first edition in 2020 in Jeddah, where Real Madrid was crowned champion. The second tournament, staged in 2022, was again won by Real Madrid in Riyadh. The third event, held at the beginning of 2023, was won by Barcelona.
Real Madrid is the Copa del Rey champion, and Barcelona is the Spanish League champion. Osasuna, as the runner-up to the cup champion, will be making its debut appearance in the Spanish Super Cup. As the 2022-2023 season's third-place finisher in Spain's "La Liga" league, Atlético Madrid rounds up the tournament's eligible teams.
“Movistar," as well as other international media platforms, will live stream the upcoming edition of the tournament, guaranteeing worldwide coverage.
