Grand Mosque: 36,000 Iftar Meals Distributed on Ashura Day

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, in cooperation with some non-profit organizations, has distributed 36,000 Iftar meals to worshippers in the Grand Mosque of Makkah on Ashura Day, which fell on the 10th of Muharram.

A presidency representative said that 150 employees of both genders helped distribute the meals at designated places in the mosque.

Earlier, the Presidency said that all its agencies and departments were ready to receive visitors to the Grand Mosque on the 10th of Muharram.

The Presidency's preparations included equipping the Grand Mosque with 9,000 regular and electric vehicles, assigning supervisors at the Mosque's gates to guide visitors, supporting security personnel in organizing the crowds and ensuring smooth movement inside the Grand Mosque.

The first Instagram Creators Summit in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has started in AlUla, bringing together content creators from around the world to engage in dialogues that discuss the future of content creation, the impact of AI, and digital interaction tools, the Saudi Press Agency said on Tuesday.

Organized by Meta, the event showcases Meta AI and the latest digital platform tools, offering participants opportunities to connect with industry experts and developers.

It also underscores AlUla’s vision to bridge cultural heritage preservation and digital development through sessions exploring storytelling, community empowerment, and how content creators help shape identity in the age of AI.
