Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Waleed bin Abdullah Bukhari, awarded the embassy’s medal to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper in recognition of the efforts of its staff and those working across its affiliated publications.
The presentation took place during Ambassador Bukhari’s visit to the newspaper’s Beirut offices, where he praised the work of employees at Asharq Al-Awsat and other institutions under the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG).
Thaer Abbas, Beirut bureau chief of Asharq Al-Awsat, received the “Embassy Medal” from Ambassador Bukhari at a ceremony at the newspaper’s office.
The ambassador was welcomed by Abbas, department heads, and several political and economic editors from SRMG publications. During his visit, Bukhari toured the newspaper’s departments and met with staff to learn about the day-to-day operations.
In remarks to journalists, Ambassador Bukhari commended the significant contributions of the newspaper’s team, describing Asharq Al-Awsat as one of the leading and most prominent Arabic newspapers.
He wished the staff continued success and progress in advancing Arab journalism before presenting the embassy medal to Thaer Abbas.
