The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the establishment of a non-profit association focused on precious metals and gemstones, aimed at developing the industry and its products, encouraging innovation, empowering designers and artisans, and supporting their creative solutions.
The move aligns with the ministry's efforts to empower non-profit organizations in the industry and mining sectors, recognizing their role in supporting the Kingdom's economic and social development.
The association’s strategic objectives support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, including the development of local content in gemstones and precious metals, support for creative industries, empowerment of women and youth, and raising professional standards for designers through training programs, workshops, and professional certifications.
It will also provide technical and financial support, production grants, and enhance the participation of Saudi artisans and designers in specialized exhibitions both locally and internationally.
The association aims to promote sustainability and encourage compliance with responsible environmental practices in the gemstone industry. Additionally, it seeks to build a unified professional community through a digital platform that connects investors and practitioners in the metals industry within an interactive environment, while linking artisans and designers to value chains.
