Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef concluded on Tuesday an official visit to Greece, leading a high-level delegation from the industry and mineral resources ecosystem to boost bilateral economic ties and expand strategic partnerships in the industry and mining sectors.
Alkhorayef held meetings with Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou and Minister of Development Dr. Takis Theodorikakos to discuss developing cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors and exploring mutual investment opportunities in maritime industries, as well as mineral exploration, extraction, and mine management.
Alkhorayef and the minister of development co-chaired a business roundtable with private-sector representatives to discuss opportunities to deepen investment partnerships in the industry and mining sectors between Saudi Arabia and Greece. The meeting was attended by the heads of at least 23 Greek companies.
The visit included a field tour of shipyards operated by the Greek Onyx Group, during which Alkhorayef reviewed the latest shipbuilding and maintenance technologies and discussed with the group’s leaders opportunities to transfer technologies and innovative solutions in maritime industries, a priority sector under the National Industrial Strategy.
The visit aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global hub for mining and minerals by strengthening international partnerships, transferring advanced technologies, and attracting quality investments.
