Chinese Cinemas to Screen Saudi Films for the First Time

The Saudi Film Commission has announced the launch of Saudi Film Nights in China, the world's largest cinema market, following the success of previous such events in Morocco and Australia.

This initiative is part of the commission's efforts to drive the growth and development of the Saudi film industry, highlight local talent, and promote cultural exchange and collaboration, according to SPA.
Chinese cinemas will be showcasing Saudi films for the first time. Special screenings will be held before the official release of these films in Chinese theatres.
Saudi Film Nights are scheduled to take place from October 21 to 26 in Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou.

They will feature a diverse selection of Saudi features, short films, and discussions with filmmakers. The event is expected to attract prominent figures, journalists, and film critics from China, alongside cinema enthusiasts.

The Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, has met with Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Chang Hua at the Ministry’s headquarters in Diriyah.
The Minister expressed hope that Monday’s meeting would help strengthen cultural relations between the two countries and thanked China for choosing the Kingdom as the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair last June.

Prince Badr commended the accomplishments of his visit to China in March, during which a memorandum of understanding for cultural cooperation was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
