Saudi Arabia’s Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is participating in the 2025 New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), held in Delhi, India, from February 1 to 9.

The commission’s participation is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural cooperation between the Kingdom and India.

Through this engagement, the commission aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s position in the global cultural and literary landscape, raise awareness about its cultural heritage, and showcase its publications and contributions to the international literary scene. Additionally, it seeks to promote cultural and intellectual exchange between the two countries.

The commission’s pavilion at NDWBF features several sections that highlight its literary and cultural initiatives and programs, including the "Tarjem" initiative, which showcases the Saudi translation movement.

The pavilion also boasts dedicated sections for the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language and the King Fahd National Library.

The Kingdom previously participated as the guest of honor at the 2024 New Delhi World Book Fair, in which it organized various programs and events reflecting the richness of Saudi Arabia’s cultural and creative landscape.

The opening weekend of Carnival in Venice culminated with a water procession along the Grand Canal that finished in front of the Rialto Bridge with a flourish of colorful streamers and confetti — all completely biodegradable.

Venice’s Carnival brings thousands of people to the lagoon city to watch the water procession, one of the event’s highlights, and check out people in elaborate costumes and masks who wander the narrow alleys and gather in Piazza St. Marco to be photographed.

The popular event forces authorities to designate some alleyways as one-way, to keep pedestrians moving.

This year’s Carnival celebrations, which run through March 4, are dedicated to the famed philanderer Giacomo Casanova, who was born in Venice 300 years ago.
