More than 80,000 Visitors Attend Founding Day Events at Ithra

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran concluded its Founding Day celebrations, attracting more than 80,000 visitors over three days, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

The events provided an opportunity to explore three centuries of Saudi history and culture through historical exhibits, Sadu storytelling, Arabic calligraphy, and other immersive experiences, offering a vivid portrayal of the Kingdom’s rich heritage.

The program featured a variety of activities, including workshops, traditional crafts, Bisht weaving, leather crafting, soap making, and a special session titled "Aljareed Aroma." The Children's Museum also hosted engaging experiences tailored for younger visitors.

Visitors explored historical narratives through crafts, storytelling, and the "Craft and Story" activity, which highlighted traditional craftsmanship. Additionally, documentaries on Saudi cuisine and coffee provided further insight into the Kingdom’s cultural heritage.

The Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is set to spearhead Riyadh's designation as the guest of honor at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2025.

The event will take place from April 22 to May 12 in Buenos Aires.

This remarkable cultural participation underscores the Kingdom's growing influence on the global cultural landscape. The commission is leading this initiative in collaboration with various national and cultural institutions.

Riyadh's selection as the fair's guest of honor highlights its significant role in the global cultural landscape. It reflects the city's commitment to fostering civilizational dialogue and embracing diverse cultures, utilizing culture as a platform for human interaction and knowledge exchange.

The Riyadh pavilion will feature a comprehensive cultural program comprising seminars, dialogue sessions, poetry evenings, performances, an engaging children's corner, and an exhibition of manuscripts and books. It will also include a dedicated section for Saudi publications translated into Spanish, all aimed at showcasing authentic Saudi culture globally and strengthening its presence in Latin America.
