Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Jeddah on Monday on an official visit.
The trip is part of efforts aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and economic, investment and trade relations with Saudi Arabia, he said last week.
This marks Erdogan’s first trip to the Gulf since his re-election for a third presidential term in May.
He is set to meet with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and hold official talks with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Speaking from Istanbul ahead of his departure to the Kingdom, Erdogan said trade exchange between Türkiye and the Gulf had risen over the past 20 years from 1.6 billion to around 22 billion dollars.
Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are the next stops of his Gulf tour.
