Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry has said Riyadh is following with “great concern” the developments in Niger, after presidential guards blocked President Mohamed Bazoum inside his palace in the capital, Niamey.

The Ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness for Niger’s security, stability, and the integrity of its institutions.

It also affirmed “full solidarity with the people of Niger” and called on “all parties to give priority to the voice of reason, wisdom and supreme national interest.”
