GCC, Japan Discuss Ways to Enhance Cooperation

A joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Japan was held on Thursday at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the GCC Foreign Ministers and their representatives discussed with the Japanese Foreign Minister, Hayashi Yoshimasa, ways to enhance cooperation between Gulf countries and Japan.

They also discussed ways to develop joint work in many fields in order to achieve development and prosperity for their countries and peoples.

The meeting tackled developments in the region and the world, and the efforts exerted to enhance international peace and security and achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, represented the Kingdom in the meeting, which was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multiple International Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 569 food baskets on Friday to Syrian refugees and the most vulnerable families in the host community of Koura District, located in Lebanon’s North Governorate.

A total of 2,845 individuals benefited from the distribution, which is part of the food assistance project aimed at supporting the neediest families in Lebanon, the Saudi Press Agency said on Sunday.

This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian and relief efforts, implemented through KSrelief, to support vulnerable and affected communities, helping to ease their hardships and improve their quality of life.
