The Saudi government reiterated on Tuesday that the Kingdom was exerting greater efforts with regional and international powers to end the escalation in Gaza and its surroundings and avert its spread to the region.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.
The government stressed that Saudi Arabia will continue to stand by the Palestinian people as they pursue efforts to obtain their legitimate rights, achieve their hopes and aspirations and establish fair and lasting peace.
The ministers were briefed on the talks held by King Salman and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with officials from several friendly and fraternal countries. The discussions focused on bilateral relations between them and Saudi Arabia and ways to bolster them in various fields.
The cabinet was briefed on the telephone talks Crown Prince Mohammed held with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II over the developments in the Gaza Strip.
The minister reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation in several regional and international meetings as part of its keenness on maintaining communication with countries across the globe and bolstering coordination with them to achieve prosperity and growth.
The cabinet discussed the outcome of the OPEC+ meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, reiterating the Kingdom’s support for the efforts aimed at stabilizing and balancing oil markets, and accelerating the growth of the global economy.
The cabinet welcomed the countries and international organizations participating in the MENA Climate Week 2023 that is being hosted by Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom is exerting efforts to protect the environment, reduce carbon emissions, increase the use of renewable energy sources, and achieve sustainable development.
The ministers congratulated the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on opening its Nuclear Security Training and Demonstration Center (NSTDC) in Seibersdorf, Austria, which the Kingdom proposed and funded as part of its efforts to strengthen international nuclear security and combat nuclear terrorism.
The cabinet commended the Kingdom's achievements reflected in a number of international indicators, including its ranking second globally in the number of tourist arrivals, as well as its progress in the Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI), as outlined in a recent report from the UN Conference on Trade and Development.
