Saudi Defense Minister Discusses Gaza Situation with Several Counterparts

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has received a telephone call from British Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps.

The two ministers reviewed on Monday the strategic relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, and discussed bilateral cooperation in the defense field.

They also addressed the ongoing military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings.

Prince Khalid emphasized the imperative need to persist in de-escalating the situation in Gaza, ceasing military operations to protect innocent lives, and respecting and adhering to international humanitarian law.

He underscored that this is vital for restoring security and stability for the Palestinian people.

Also Monday, Prince Khalid met at his office in Riyadh, the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, Begenc Gundogdyyew.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Turkmenistan were reviewed. They discussed ways to support and enhance future cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of the two countries.

The two sides also discussed the current military escalation in Gaza, its surroundings and the efforts exerted in this regard, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues and developments of common interest.

Prince Khalid also met with Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto.

During the reception, the aspects of Saudi-Italian relations and promising opportunities for strengthening and developing them in the fields of defense and military industries were reviewed.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Gaza and its surroundings.

The platform will facilitate interaction between healthcare companies and Hajj service providers, fostering collaborations that meet the evolving needs of pilgrims under new regulations requiring contracts with Saudi healthcare institutions.

The conference will also feature the Humanizing the Holy Sites Hackathon, a competitive event that challenges engineers, designers, and specialists to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that enhance the pilgrim experience while minimizing environmental impact.

The initiative aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, underscoring the importance of humanizing the holy sites and enriching the pilgrim experience.

A dedicated ministerial session will be held, bringing together key ministers and officials from relevant government entities. The session will provide a platform to discuss and showcase new and ongoing services, projects, and initiatives aimed at facilitating and enriching the pilgrim journey.
