Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi has emphasized that the relationship between the GCC member states and China is characterized by excellence, idealism, and diversification.

He indicated that these relations are robust across various aspects, with a particular focus on economic and trade ties.

Albudaiwi’s remarks came on Saturday during his meeting with the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, on the sidelines of the first session of the Trade and Industry Ministers' meetings between the GCC countries and China in the city of Guangzhou.

During the meeting, various topics were discussed, with a primary focus on emphasizing the shared commitment of the GCC and Chinese parties to strengthen, diversify, and solidify economic and trade relations across all sectors.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held talks in New York on Wednesday with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib.

Meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, they discussed the latest developments in Lebanon in wake of Israel’s launching of intense strikes against Hezbollah.

They discussed the danger of the conflict in Gaza expanding in the region, stressing the importance of preserving Lebanon’s security and respecting its sovereignty in line with international law.
