The Saudi government said on Tuesday it was watching with pain the escalation of violence in Gaza.
It reiterated the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of the targeting of civilians under any pretext, stressing the need for an immediate end to the military operations to avoid their dangerous repercussions on the security and stability of the region and world.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.
The ministers were briefed on the series of meetings and contacts held in recent days between Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with several world leaders. The talks focused on bilateral relations between the Kingdom and their countries and regional and international issues.
The minister lauded the visits carried out to the Kingdom by the presidents of Indonesia and South Korea, and prime ministers of Singapore and Malaysia. They hailed the outcomes of the visits that resulted in the signing of several agreements aimed at bolstering cooperation between their countries.
Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said the cabinet hailed the positive outcome of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Riyadh Summit, which was co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed and the president of Indonesia.
He said outcomes will help in bolstering cooperation between the GCC and ASEAN countries to the benefit of their peoples and will increase their opportunity to develop, progress and prosper.
The cabinet praised the naming of Saudi Arabia as host the 26th meeting of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) General Assembly in 2025, and its re-election as president of the WTO Executive Council. The developments are recognition of the Kingdom's leadership in this sector, and its role in achieving a brighter and more cooperative future.
The cabinet congratulated the winners of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World, which aims at promoting joint action in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development, improving the quality of life, and developing innovative scientific and practical solutions to current and future challenges.
