The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) announced that the first direct flight of Qatar Airways arrived on Sunday evening at AlUla International Airport from Hamad International Airport in Doha.

The new flights give guests the opportunity to explore the natural wonders of AlUla, participate in events and festivals held throughout the year and enjoy the hospitality of this tourist destination.

Qatar Airways currently flies to more than 160 destinations around the world, including Asia, North and South America, and Europe, expanding opportunities for worldwide visitors to visit AlUla.

The airline operates two weekly scheduled flights between Doha and AlUla, on Fridays and Sundays.

In a press release, RCU Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing Rami AlMoallim said that the growth and continued success of the tourism sector in AlUla is due to the commission’s partnerships with regional and global airlines.

He added that by cooperating with Qatar Airways, the commission will launch a new phase of regular flights to the city, emphasizing “every achievement made, from the opening to the expansion of AlUla Airport, comes with the aim of inviting tourists from all over the world to visit and explore this amazing destination”.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi extended his congratulations to Joseph Aoun on his election as Lebanon's president.
Albudaiwi extended his heartfelt wishes for Aoun’s success in meeting the aspirations of the Lebanese people, particularly in achieving stability, prosperity, and development. He also emphasized the GCC's commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and historic relations between the Council and Lebanon.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's unwavering stance, as outlined in the final statement of the 46th Extraordinary Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council, in support of the Lebanese people.
He emphasized the Council's continued commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability, along with its steadfast support for the Lebanese Armed Forces in safeguarding the country’s borders.

Albudaiwi also highlighted the critical importance of fully implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to restore lasting security and stability in Lebanon and ensure respect for its territorial integrity.
He reiterated the importance of the Lebanese government exercising full control over all Lebanese territories, in line with the relevant Security Council resolutions and the provisions of the Taif Agreement.
