The Saudi government followed up on Tuesday on the Kingdom’s diplomatic efforts to push the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop the military operations in Gaza and allow relief organization to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to civilians.

The efforts have also pushed for reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the conflict that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The ministers were briefed on the telephone call he received from US President Joe Biden. The Crown Prince underlined Saudi Arabia’s position on the developments in Gaza.

The cabinet highlighted the resumption of talks in Jeddah between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces. The talks are being facilitated by Saudi Arabia and the United States in partnership with the African Union and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The cabinet hoped that the talks would be a positive step forward towards ending the conflict and reaching an agreement that would establish security and stability in Sudan.

The cabinet reviewed the major events and economic activities hosted by the Kingdom in recent days, praising the success of the 7th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) and its achievements, notably the launch of investments worth over $17 billion.

Syria's de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa received a delegation from Bahrain on Wednesday and met with the Bahraini foreign minister, state media reported.

The visit was the latest in a flurry of diplomatic overtures by Arab countries to Syria’s new leaders after they overthrew former President Bashar al-Assad in a lightning rebel offensive.

Like other Gulf countries, Bahrain had cut off diplomatic ties with Syria under Assad’s rule during the Syrian civil war, but it reopened its embassy in Damascus in 2018 and gradually restored ties with the Assad government.

Bahrain is the current head of the Arab summit, and days after Assad’s ouster it had sent a message to al-Sharaa offering its cooperation with the new authorities and saying, “We look forward to Syria regaining its authentic role in the Arab League.”
