The Arab Parliament welcomed the extension of the humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip for two additional days, allowing the entry of humanitarian aid and releasing more Palestinian prisoners.

In a statement on Tuesday, the parliament urged an increase in efforts towards reaching a permanent and final ceasefire to ensure the Palestinian people have access to humanitarian aid.

The parliament expressed gratitude to the successful mediation efforts exerted by Egypt and Qatar to reach the extension to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

It renewed the call on the international community to assume its political, legal and moral responsibilities, take all measures for a permanent ceasefire, hold Israel accountable for the crimes committed against Palestinian civilians, and pressure it to allow and provide humanitarian and relief aid to the civilians in Gaza.
