Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi expressed deep concern regarding the latest developments in the Red Sea region and the military operations that have targeted several sites in the Republic of Yemen, SPA reported on Friday.
Albudaiwi emphasized the importance of protecting maritime security and waterways in the region and addressing activities that endanger the security and stability of this area and the world, including the threat to maritime navigation and international trade.
At the same time, the GCC chief urged self-restraint and avoidance of escalation, which may lead to serious consequences given the ongoing events in the region. He also called for avoiding harm to civilians in Yemen.
