Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi received in Riyadh on Monday Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber for talks on Yemen.

Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC’s support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in line with the GCC initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216.

He underlined the GCC’s support for Yemen’s legitimate authorities, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad Al Alimi, as they pursue achieve political stability.

Albudaiwi welcomed the sincere efforts of Saudi Arabia and Oman to revive the political process under the patronage of the UN and achieve a comprehensive and sustainable solution to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Albudaiwi and Al-Jaber reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, the Red Sea, and Gulf of Aden.

Albudaiwi praised Saudi Arabia's continued provision of all forms of support to the Yemeni people, stressing that it is part of the fraternal efforts made by GCC countries to support Yemen.

He also commended the distinguished efforts made by the SDRPY, including the implementation of economic and development projects that have greatly contributed to easing the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Saudi Arabia Condemns Terrorist Attack in Mogadishu, Somalia

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack in Mogadishu, the capital of the Federal Republic of Somalia, which resulted in the death and injury of tens of people.
In a statement, it said the Kingdom affirm its position of rejecting violence, extremism, and targeting civilians.

The Kingdom also asserts that it stands with the government and people of the Federal Republic of Somalia in this incident, SPA reported.

The statement further said that the Kingdom expresses its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the government and people of Somalia, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.
