Riyadh Hosts Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council on Wednesday

The Preparatory Committee for the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council convened on Monday to discuss the preparations for the third meeting of the Council to be held in Riyadh.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will co-chair the meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif al Zayani co-chaired the preparatory committee’s meeting.
The meeting reviewed the Council's progress and provided updates on the outcomes of its subsidiary committees. They also discussed bilateral and multilateral coordination regarding matters of mutual interest.
At the opening of the meeting, Prince Faisal lauded the achievements and initiatives of the Council's taskforce and sub-committees, noting they would contribute to boosting joint action, wishing the Council's upcoming meeting every success.
Zayani praised the sincere dedication of Saudi Arabia in unifying Arab and Islamic efforts to support the Palestinian cause and end the war in the Gaza Strip.
The Minister also hailed the Kingdom's endeavors to host Arab summits with international blocs to enhance cooperation and unify efforts facing global political, security, and economic challenges.
The committee addressed the preparations for the third meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, discussed the topics on the agenda, including the draft agreements and memoranda of understanding to be signed, in addition to the new initiatives that will be submitted to the Council to approve it.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of the preparatory committee from both sides signed the minutes of the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan, Minister of State and Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs Essam bin Saeed and Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs Saud al-Sati.
The Bahraini delegation included Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad al-Maliki, Undersecretary of the Finance and National Economy Ministry Yousif Humood, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Ali bin Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of the Foreign Ministry Talal al Ansari, and several other officials.

The Saudi leadership congratulated on Saturday Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as Iran's president.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent him a cable on the occasion.

He wished him success during his time in office, saying he looks forward to the continued development of relations between their countries and peoples.

He also hoped for continued coordination and consultations to bolster regional and international security and peace.

He wished Pezeshkian health and happiness and the brotherly people of Iran further progress and prosperity.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, sent Pezeshkian a similar cable.

He underscored his keenness on developing and deepening relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran and their people to achieve common interests.
