OIC Condemns Targeting of Military Base in Mogadishu

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Monday the terrorist attack that targeted a military base in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, which killed several members of Somali, Bahraini, and Emirati forces.

In a statement, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Taha reaffirmed OIC’s rejection of all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, and its support for the efforts of the Somali government to combat terrorism and improve security and stability in the country.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and to the governments of Somalia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Saudi Arabia condemned the ramming attack at a market in the German city of Magdeburg, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

Police arrested a suspect in the attack, which killed at least two people and injured dozens of others on Friday evening.

The ministry expressed its condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government, wishing those injured a swift recovery.

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its firm stance against all forms of violence.
