Saudi FM, Blinken Discuss Biden’s Gaza Ceasefire Proposal

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held telephone talks on Tuesday on the latest developments in Gaza.

They reviewed US President Joe Biden’s ceasefire proposal and the hostage exchange deal.

They also discussed developments in Sudan.

Earlier, Prince Faisal received a telephone call from his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

They reviewed relations and ways to boost and develop them.

They also discussed the latest developments and issues of common interest.

Saudi Arabia has welcomed a decision made by Sudanese Sovereign Council President and Army leader Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to assign the Humanitarian Aid Commission to open the Adre crossing for delivering humanitarian assistance to the city of Al-Fasher in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation there.

The Kingdom on Thursday commended the decision as a positive step in addressing humanitarian needs, facilitating the delivery of aid, and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers.

The Saudi delegation to the Geneva Conference held discussions with the UN secretary-general’s special envoy and the African Union representative to discuss providing emergency assistance through a joint mechanism.
