Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah underscored the significant progress achieved in Saudi-Turkish relations across political, economic, and security domains.

During an official visit to Türkiye, he announced the signing of a protocol to amend the minutes on establishing the Coordination Council, with plans for the second coordination meeting to be held in Riyadh soon.

This reflects leadership commitment to advancing relations in all areas of mutual interest.

Prince Faisal hoped the upcoming council meeting in Riyadh will foster effective partnerships.

In a press conference in Istanbul following meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Prince Faisal highlighted that bilateral trade reached $6.8 billion in 2023, marking 15% increase from the previous year.

Discussions with his Turkish counterpart also covered regional issues, notably the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and Israeli war on Gaza.

Riyadh and Ankara stressed that their shared political positions are aimed at revitalizing the regional peace process.

Prince Faisal underscored joint efforts to halt the Israeli assault, prevent Palestinian displacement, facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza, and uphold the Palestinian right to self-determination through the establishment of an internationally recognized independent state.
