Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Friday telephoned Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan as part of Saudi-Egyptian efforts to preserve regional stability.

“They discussed the serious regional escalation over the past days,” said spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Ahmed Abo Zeid.

“Abdelatty underlined the need to put an end to the escalation,” he said, adding that he called on major powers, particularly the US, to assume their responsibilities for halting the escalation.

“Abdelatty lauded good ties and strong cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, voicing Egypt’s keenness to continue having coordination on regional and international challenges,” said Abo Zeid.

The Egyptian Minister also highlighted great efforts exerted by Egypt and Saudi Arabia to settle regional issues and put an end to the Sudanese crisis.

For his part, the Saudi Minister expressed the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance ties and cooperation with Egypt at all levels.
