The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Monday’s the Kingdom condemnation of the attack on the residence of the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Sudan, saying it was a violation of international law.

The ministry reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of these violations and all forms of violence against diplomats, emphasizing the need to ensure the protection of diplomats and respect for diplomatic missions' premises in compliance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The Sudanese army on Monday rejected an accusation by the UAE that its forces had bombed the residence of the UAE ambassador in Khartoum.

It stressed that its forces were targeting militias and that it was its right to defend Sudan against them, adding that it respects international law

The UAE said earlier on Monday that the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum had been attacked by a Sudanese military aircraft, condemning it as a "heinous attack."
