Saudi Arabia, Italy Discuss Regional Developments

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Italian counterpart, Guido Crosetto, discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in the region and the world.

Earlier, an official reception was held in Rome for Prince Khalid bin Salman during which the national anthems of both countries were played and the honor guard was displayed. The ministers then exchanged greetings with each other's country delegations.

Crosetto hosted a luncheon in honor of Prince Khalid.

Both ministers also held an extensive bilateral meeting in the presence of delegations from both ministries, discussing Saudi-Italian relations. They explored prospects for defense cooperation and means to develop it in line with the aspirations of the leadership of both countries.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region and the world, as well as topics of mutual interest.

Saudi Ambassador to Italy Prince Faisal bin Sattam bin Abdulaziz, the Chief of General Staff General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Khalid bin Hussein Biyari and a number of officials attended the reception.

King Salman Orders One-Year Extension of the Citizen Account Program

Upon the recommendation of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered on Monday that the Citizen Account Program be extended, in its current framework, until the end of 2025.

The directive also includes a one-year extension of the additional support to the program’s beneficiaries, as well as the continuation of the program’s registration process.

The royal directive reflects the Saudi leadership’s keenness on citizens. The additional support to the program’s beneficiaries was already extended under a royal directive in July 2022.
