OIC Condemns Ongoing Israeli Massacres and War Crimes in Gaza Strip

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the horrific massacre perpetrated by the Israeli occupation in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinians, along with the indiscriminate destruction of residential buildings and vital infrastructure, the Saudi Press Agency said on Saturday.
The OIC denounced the Israeli act as yet another organized state terrorism and genocide that has been ongoing for more than fourteen months against the Palestinian people.
The OIC also welcomed the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a resolution demanding an immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire, as well as the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into all parts of the Gaza Strip.
It also welcomed another resolution supporting the mandate of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and its vital role in providing basic services to Palestinian refugees.
In this context, the OIC reiterated its call for the international community to uphold its responsibilities and exert pressure on Israel, the “occupation power”, to comply with international law and implement relevant UN resolutions.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed a United Nations General Assembly resolution requesting the International Court of Justice to issue a legal advisory opinion regarding Israel’s obligations concerning the activities of the UN and other states in support of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The resolution was sponsored by Norway in partnership with Saudi Arabia and several other countries.

The resolution, aimed at supporting and assisting the Palestinian people under the current circumstances, reflects a clear international consensus on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, the ministry said.

It added that the Kingdom appreciates the positive stance of the countries that voted in favor of the resolution.
