OIC Condemns Attempts to Legitimize Israeli Settlements, Warns Against Forced Displacement of Palestinians

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the so-called Israeli cabinet's approval to separate 13 illegal settlements in the West Bank in preparation for legitimizing them as colonial settlements, in grave violation of international law and UN resolutions, the Saudi Press Agency said on Monday.

This was followed by extremist and racist statements by Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, who considered this step as part of a plan to impose Israel's alleged sovereignty over the West Bank, underlined the OIC.

The OIC warned against threats of establishing a special Israeli agency for the displacement of Palestinians under the name of "voluntary departure”. It reiterated its absolute rejection of plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people individually or collectively within or outside their land or forced displacement or exile, which constitutes a grave violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and relevant UN resolutions.

The OIC urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to fulfill their responsibilities in confronting Israeli crimes, including genocide, illegal settlements, house demolitions, forced displacement, and sovereignty attempts, and to impose sanctions, supporting a two-state solution.
