Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Closure of UNRWA Schools in Jerusalem

Saudi Arabia expressed the strongest condemnation of the closure orders issued by Israeli authorities against six schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed in a statement the Kingdom’s unequivocal rejection of the Israeli occupation authorities’ ongoing intransigence and systematic targeting of UNRWA, and humanitarian and relief efforts—particularly in light of the continued silence from the international community.
The Ministry urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in the face of Israel’s ongoing violations against the Palestinian people, emphasizing that silence in the face of such actions only exacerbates the crisis and further undermines prospects for a just and lasting peace in the region.

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday expressed concern over the escalating tension between India and Pakistan and the continued exchange of fire along the border areas.
A statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the Kingdom called on both nations to de-escalate and resolve their disagreements through diplomatic channels.

It also called on them to uphold the principles of good neighborliness, and strive for stability and peace in a manner that serves the interests of their people and the region.
